Non-consolidated orders received and net sales for the Fourth quarter of the fiscal year ending March 31, 2024
The non-consolidated results for the fourth quarter of the fiscal year ended March 31, 2024 are as follows.
(1) Orders received in the fourth quarter totaled ¥6,531 million, a 62.4% increase year on year, and a 9.7% increase quarter on quarter.
(2) In terms of trends in orders received by application, although year-on-year decreases were recorded in areas such as Medical Equipment and Machine Tools, increases were seen for Robotics, Semiconductor Equipment, Automotive, and Gearbox for Motor Manufacturers, etc. Compared to the previous quarter, orders received decreased for Medical Equipment, Machine Tools, and Printing Machines, but increased in other areas, including the major applications of Robotics, Semiconductor Equipment, Aerospace, and Flat Panel Display Equipment.
(3) During the fourth quarter, orders totaling ¥4 million were canceled primarily due to some customers’ circumstances, such as changes in production plans, but the results of orders received in (1) show the amounts before deducting these cancelations in order to accurately reflect the results of order-taking activities and actual demand in the fourth quarter.
(4) Export orders received increased both year on year and quarter on quarter. By region, year-on-year increases were seen across all regions, including China, Germany, Taiwan, and North America. Compared to the previous quarter, orders decreased in South Korea but increased in China and other regions.
(5) Net sales for the fourth quarter amounted to ¥6,850 million, down 47.3% year on year, and up 3.6% quarter on quarter.
